Thanks for your comments! White lions do occur rarely in the wild if two lions possess the recessive gene and mate together. They are not a separate sub species of lion they are just coloured differently, they do suffer from health problems and zoos breed them to bring in more visitors.

Some people really aren't paying attention to the what he's saying in the video. He provides answers there. Also, is the problem with white tigers the same with white lions? I mean are they inbreed aswell?

Still, to say they would not be able to live in the wild before it has even been proven is a bit judgemental. Mohan was 9 months old when he was found, which means he had survived the most vulnerable parts of his life & was still in excellent condition when he was forced into captivity. My opinion is if a white tiger can live in the wild succesfully, then it definatly belongs in this world.

They do not occur where it snows. Never did. You can get all the facts about white tigers on our web site.

That whole thing in Africa was a PR stunt and not endorsed by anyone who knows anything about conservation. It was to amuse people on TV and didn' actually work.

I find it hard to believe that white tigers are just a genetic mistake. It is known that all tigers originated from areas much colder than India (which is why they love water so much, it cools them) It is thought they originated from an area such as far east russia where there is almost year-round heavy snow. White tigers would not stcik out so much there...

i got a question about tiger actually about most of the big cats. do they all like to play with strings like the small cats do? may be ropes?

Hi, color blind or not a white tiger would still stick out like a sore thumb in the forests of india to both predators and prey, the siberian tigers that live in russia are orange just like the tigers in india.

All the official breeding programs around the world require pure subjects from that species 100% bengal tiger for example, inbreeding tigers creates more that is the easy part but they wouldn't be able to be released in the wild as their genetics are messed up and this wouldn't help the species in the wild.

Question: if they stop capturing wild tigers, how does inbreeding not help conservation of the tiger? I mean, just exploit the ones you already have and leave the rest alone.
